18th Century QIANLONG CHINOISERIE wallpaper

The Qianlong Emperor's long reign (1736-1795) was a particularly fascinating time in Chinese history. During his reign China was the wealthiest and most populous nation in the world. This copy of the original Chinese wallpaper still retains all the original marks and aging. It is simply stunning.

The original patter was hand printed in panels. Chinoiserie was an art form in itself and various artists might contribute to produce many panels that would all sit against each other.

The colour is incredible! A rich deep blue with shadings of age. This is not a design or colour that will shrink quietly into the background. It makes a statement! I love it!

The pattern can be seamlessly repeated.

Heights to choose from are approx. 6", 8" and 10"

Lengths are approx 20" plus. I retain the pattern repeat edge which does influence the length of the mural slightly depending on height but I always aim for 20" to 23" length.

The Print

Individually printed to order onto high quality paper with high detail and colour definition. The image shown on this website does not reflect the quality of the printed item. The printed item will be of a much higher quality with no blur or undefined print. Colours will be crisp and clean.

The pattern repeats at the left and right edges.

Because of the length of the wallpaper I shall roll it to post it. All 4 edges are selvage which protects the edges of the design from any accidental scuffing. This selvage will need to be cut away.

Do you require taller paper?

If you require a taller paper the please do contact me. There is no maximum height. As a rule I charge £1 per inch (in height) and an additional £5 per set up per design.

The resolution (sharpness of detail) of the prints is of a very very high quality and although you maybe viewing a slightly pixilated image of the mural your print will be sharp, clear and beautiful. All murals are printed on thick high grade paper that has a matt finish and will not wrinkle when glued. The inks will not bleed if the paper is made wet.
